Officials in Scott hope $1.12 million sewer and water improvements they're planning for the Interstate 10-La. Highway 93 interchange will help the corridor lure more business and industry.
The Advertiser reports the Scott City Council voted last week to open bids on the project.
The lion's share of the work, roughly $1 million of it, is being paid for with state capital outlay funds.
The city must cover roughly 10 percent of the construction costs.
