School bus driver trainee arrested

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Police say a 23-year-old man training to become a Lafayette Parish School Board bus driver has been arrested for allegedly using a school board charge card to buy more than $1,000 worth of unleaded gasoline.
Calvin James Savoy was arrested Feb. 3 on 25 counts of "unauthorized use of an access card," a felony.
Lafayette Police Department spokesman Cpl. Paul Mouton tells The Advertiser that school board officials noticed in January several charges for unleaded gasoline on a Fuelman card used by bus drivers.
Mouton said the cards should only be used for diesel, which is the fuel school buses use.
Savoy is out of jail on a $2,500 bond.
It wasn't immediately clear if Savoy has an attorney.
