Sanity hearing scheduled for Krotz Springs woman accused of murder

A sanity hearing for a Krotz Springs woman will be held after being indicted on second-degree murder charges. O'deal Lirette allegedly told police her dead husband spoke to her about the murder victim, James Guillory of Krotz Springs.

Our investigative team reviewed the case file to discover the following evidence was filed by police:

Lirette was allegedly at her son's house on N. Levee Road in Krotz Springs on Nov. 4, 2013 when she called the Krotz Spring Police Department and asked for an ambulance because she said she "shot "'Lil Ricky," James Ricky Guillory.

Lirette allegedly told police when she saw Guillory, who had been living with Lirette's son for about three weeks, and a woman walk up to her son's house, she began yelling for them to go away. When they did not, she allegedly retrieved a pistol from her home, also on Levee Road, and returned to her son's home.

She told police Guillory "came toward her and that was all she remembers," according to court documents. She also told police that, "her deceased husband Wesley's ghost would not let her sleep and told her she had to get rid of the victim," according to court documents.
