The New Orleans Saints are bringing back a familiar receiver to the 2014 lineup.
Saints' Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the team has re-signed WR Joseph Morgan to a one-year contract.
Morgan, who will be returning from knee surgery, made his regular season playing debut in 2012, appearing in 14 games with five starts and hauling in 10 passes for 379 yards (37.9 avg.) with three touchdowns.
Before suffering a season-ending knee injury that would sideline him on Injured Reserve for the 2013 regular season campaign, the 6'1" receiver garnered notice from fans and the team during an exceptional preseason.
Morgan was first signed in 2011 by New Orleans as an undrafted free agent from Walsh University. During his rookie preseason, the wideout recorded two catches for 77 yards (38.5 avg., including a 56-yard touchdown and returned six punts for 107 yards (17.8 avg.) with a 78-yard return.
Morgan's hometown of Canton, Ohio, also is the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
