There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, at the Iberia Parish Airport Authority's new box hangars located at LeMaire Memorial Airport in Jeanerette Tuesday, July 16 at 9 a.m.
"The Airport Authority is excited to have them (the hangars) for LeMaire Memorial Airport and the City of Jeanerette," said Jason Devillier, the airport's director.
The Iberia Parish Airport Authority owns, operates, and maintains LeMaire Memorial Airport, located
one mile south of Jeanerette in eastern Iberia Parish. The airport features a 3,000-foot lighted asphalt
runway and serves mainly single-engine planes, small multi-engine aircraft and helicopters. LeMaire
Memorial Airport has recently completed numerous upgrades to the facility, including lighting
improvements, a fuel farm, generator system and runway coating.
Acadiana Regional Airpark is home to more than 50 companies and 1,750 employees, including Bristow,
the world's largest provider of helicopter services, Rotocraft Leasing Corporation, and Avex, the world's leader in aviation exterior painting.
