According to WDSU-TV, former New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin has been ordered to report to a federal prison camp in Texas by noon on Sept. 8.
Nagin has been assigned to a minimum serurity camp in Texarkana, Texas, which is about a two-hour drive from his current home in the Dallas area and about six hours by car from New Orleans, the city he once led.
In July, a district judge sentenced Nagin to 10 years in custody following his conviction earlier this year on 20 counts of bribery and corruption.
At the time, Nagin's lawyer suggested he serve his sentence at the Bureau of Prisons facility in Oakdale, La.
