Periods of rain in Acadiana will likely end by mid-morning to midday Saturday with the rest of the weekend looking quite favorable.
The sub-tropical jet stream combined with a nearly stationary frontal boundary will likely produce periods of rain through the overnight hours.
The heaviest rain, and likely thunderstorms, should stay offshore but a soaking of 1-2" along the immediate coast cannot be ruled out.
In general expect about 1/2" of rain in most areas with lesser amounts to the north and highest amounts along the coast.
Skies will be clearing Saturday afternoon with pleasant temperatures and a nice northerly breeze expected to finish the day.
Look for cooler conditions Sunday morning with lows in the refreshing lower 50s.
Sunny skies will dominate for most of our Sunday but high clouds will be moving back in by day's end ahead of the next quick-moving system.
Showers will be back for Monday with drier and cool conditions returning late Tuesday.
Very pleasant weather is expected for the rest of next week.
