An unusual July cool front will drift into the area today bringing showers and thunderstorms today. The possibility of some severe weather over our northern sections exists later this afternoon and evening. Temperatures will remain in the low 90s today.
The front will settle along the coast and slightly drier air will push in, therefore Wednesday should be hot, but less humid. With dew points expected in the lower 60s, we won't be talking about any heat index for at least a day. Wednesday night, Thursday morning, temperatures will drop into the upper 60s. The record is 65 for Thursday morning.
Humidity will make a big return later on Thursday and typical summer weather will return. Upper level disturbances will move through Friday and Saturday. Rain chances will be high for the weekend.
