LAFAYETTE - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team will wrap up regular-season play with a pair of matches beginning Friday when it entertains UT Arlington at Earl K. Long Gym.
First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. Live statistics and a live video stream (subscription required) for both matches will be available on the volleyball page at www.ragincajuns.com.
After facing UTA (15-14, 8-8 SBC) in Friday's match, Louisiana (18-12, 8-8 SBC) will end the regular-season on Sunday when it plays host to UALR (20-8, 12-4 SBC) at noon. After the conclusion of the UALR match, Louisiana will honor its four-member senior class - Kristen Armstrong, Taylor Meade, Lavinia Tataran and Tonice White.
Currently in a three-way tie for fourth-place with UTA and South Alabama, the Ragin' Cajuns look to enter next week's Sun Belt Conference Tournament on a high note. A win in its final two matches would equal Louisiana's second-best win total in league play since finishing 9-5 in 2002.
Tataran leads Louisiana on offense, averaging 2.75 kills per set and is followed by White (2.52), Sara Mossakowski (2.40) and Kaylee Nemeth (2.18). Andrea Hole is third in the Sun Belt Conference in assists (10.44) with Meade leading the league in aces per set (0.33).
Caitlyn Auxilien leads the Ragin' Cajuns, and is sixth in the Sun Belt Conference, in digs per set (4.27) with freshman Chanelle Gardner leading the team with 0.97 blocks per set.
In its earlier matches against UTA and UALR, the Ragin' Cajuns dropped a straight-set contest on Sept. 28 to the Mavs in Arlington while posting a four-set victory over the Trojans on Oct. 20 in Little Rock.
