Ragin' Cajun fans get creative at tailgate party

Like any big football game the tailgate party is just as big and with more than 50,000 fans attending the New Orleans Bowl, forces of red can be seen at every turn. At Rouse's Market in New Orleans people showed their true spirit and creativity. Members of Theta Xi fraternity were up at 6 a.m. Saturday making sure they reserved their spot.

Hopefully we can continue tradition, Every time UL comes to a bowl game we're here, right here ," said UL Theta Xi fraternity brother Chris McNeal
They brought out the predator truck, steamy gumbo and took a creative twist on their keg set-up.

"Apparently rouse's doesn't have garbage cans so we improvised and put some ice in there. We're keeping it really cold and crisp. This is our third year doing it and we're going to be partying all night long," said McNeal.
They won't be the only ones partying it up. Other fans said their red and white wigs are their lucky charms.
"These wigs are undefeated at the bowl games so until they lose they're coming out," said UL Football fan Chris Edmondson.
The tailgate party was filled with food, drink and music. More than 100 Lafayette fire fighters came decked out in their gear. Doyle Boudreaux explained their special connection to football.

"It's a physical game, a lot of working out, keeping in shape. We both have helmets, we both have gear. You kind of run a fire department like a football team, there's a leader and it's just a team sport. It kind of fits," said Boudreaux.
