Today the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office will be holding a press conference about the quadrouple homicide in Lake Charles. Sheriff Tony Mancuso will be talking about the latest developments in the case. KATC's Melissa Hawkes will be there.
New information on the quadruple murder in Lake Charles. Lee Roy Williams is no longer a person of interest in the case...he is now a suspect.
These are the words of Williams on his way into the Calcasieu Parish Jail Friday, after reporters peppered him with questions.
"did you kill those people?"
"no, i did not."
"can you tell us what happened in that trailer?"
"i don't know. i wasn't there."
"where have you been these past few days?"
Officials named Williams a person of interest after they found four people murdered inside this trailer near Lake Charles. The four victims: Terry Banks, Jessica Eugene, Crystal Fruge and Kendrick Lavergne. All were found in separate rooms... dead.
Fruge's mother told authorities Williams ate supper with all four victims on Friday. Their bodies were not discovered until Monday morning, by Thursday police were on his trail.
He was spotted near the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. Initially, he fled in his Ford Explorer, after a standoff with police, he was captured.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's office searched Williams SUV. Inside investigators say they found plenty of evidence that could potentially link Williams to the crime.
That evidence is now being analyzed at a crime lab. Meanwhile, Williams is being held on five million dollars bond.
