Prosecutor on leave after arrest in New Iberia

NEW IBERIA, La. (AP) - A prosecutor with the 16th Judicial District Attorney's Office has been placed on paid administrative leave after she was arrested Saturday in New Iberia.
Iberia deputies say 37-year-old Renee Louviere was booked on one count of resisting an officer.
Deputies say the arrest occurred during a traffic stop.
Louviere, a prosecutor in the St. Martin Parish District Attorney's Office, was a passenger in a vehicle driven a New Orleans man.
The incident report states that during the stop, Louviere opened the door and asked why the vehicle was stopped.
The arrest report says Louviere stood up and started to "speak very loudly . questioning the stop." District Attorney Phil Haney tells The Advocate his office is still awaiting information on the circumstances surrounding Louviere's arrest.
