Lafayette City-Parish President Joey Durel will unveil his proposed 2013-2014 budget to the LCG Council tomorrow evening, kicking off a month-long public review process before the final adoption of the document.
The introduction of the budget ordinances, along with the proforma and proposed revenues, will be made during a special meeting of the LCG Council at 5:30 Thursday evening. At the meeting, Council Chairman Brandon Shelvin will call for the charter-required public hearing to be held on Aug. 29 and for publication of public notice on Aug. 14.
There a published summary of the proposed budgets, along with the times and places where copies of the full documents are available for public inspection, on Aug. 13.
Final adoption of the budget is targeted for Sept. 12 during another special meeting.
There will also be hearings, open to the public, to discuss the various departmental budgets. Here's a schedule of those hearings:
