Jennings police say they believe the man whose body was found along a road Monday night was shot at the home of one of the suspects.
Chief Todd D'Albor says Ruston Reed was friends with the two suspects, Keagon Reon and Jules Batiste. According to D'Albor, his investigators believe Reon shot Reed at Batiste's home on Joe Louis Street.
D'Albor says Reed's body was dumped along Racca Road shortly afterward.
According to D'Albor, the police department received tips that helped them identify Reed after a description was released to television stations and on social media.
Reon is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the case. Batiste is charged with being an accessory after the fact. No bond has been set for either.
D'Albor says his department is still investigating the case to find a motive and if any other people were involved in Reed's death.
