Parking is a less of a problem this fall as students begin classes at McNeese State University.
McNeese spokesman Candace Townsend tells The American Press that the school's new parking garage, which provides 865 spaces, has helped make things easier. She said the campus now has about 5,000 parking spaces.
Parking is still a chore during peak hours. And Townsend said a few parking spaces at a time may be unavailable for short stretches. For instance, she said some parking areas are scheduled to be closed briefly for maintenance. Also several parking are taken off line at times for maintenance. And, on any given day, a few spaces may be reserved for special events.
