At approximately 1:50 am, officers responded to the 700 block of West Alexander Street where a suspect in a dark colored vehicle approached a 49 year old male of Lafayette as he was walking. The suspect in the front passenger seat produced a gun and advised the victim to "Give it up." The victim immediately began to run. The victim heard 4 to 6 shots and fell to the ground after feeling a sharp pain in his right leg. The suspects fled the area in possibly a 1980's dark blue Cadillac. The victim was transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the right leg.
