Five-hundred temporary jobs are opening up because of the oil spill, according to the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
"As people come in inquiring about those jobs we refer them to the information about openings and make sure the jobs out there are legit," says Charles Duplechin of LA Works.
The company Advanced Industrial Services is looking for: general labor, crew leaders, site supervisors, site safety representatives, and lead safety representatives.
The jobs are in the New Orleans area.
The main requirements for these jobs are: you have to be 18 years or older and able to lift 40 pounds, have a U.S. I.D. and have your own transportation.
It will be a hard seven-day a week job, but job seekers are eager.
"It's good because with the economy, it helps out a lot. Whatever they want me to do I'd be happy to," says one job seeker.
