LAFAYETTE, La. - After a back-and-forth game the night before, the third-ranked Ragin' Cajuns baseball team cruised to a 9-1 victory on Friday against ULM at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field to win the squad's 15 consecutive weekend series.
"To be able to stay that consistent and win series on the road and not just at home is a special deal," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "You really have to grind to be able to do something like that. This is just a tribute to all of the hard work that our players have put in."
The team is the first in program history not to lose a weekend series during the regular season.
Louisiana (48-7, 25-4 Sun Belt) is also one win away from tying the school record in wins set three times with the last time coming in 2000. The Cajuns set a new program record for wins in a conference season with 25. The previous best was 24 wins in 1999.

Matt Plitt came on in relief in the fifth inning and threw five scoreless innings to close out the game and earn his third save of the season. Plitt had five strikeouts in the outing.
"Carson came out and set a good tempo," Robichaux said. "From there Matt Plitt carried the tempo all the way through."
Chris Hunt was handed the loss for ULM giving up five runs on seven hits in 4.1 innings of work to fall to 2-5 on the year.
The Warhawks got out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Jacob Stockton tripled down the right field line to score Trent Lucas.
Davis evened the contest in the bottom half of the second with a solo home run off of the scoreboard. The homer is the third of the season for Davis.
Michael Strentz put Louisiana ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the third with a leadoff solo blast deep into the pine trees in left. Strentz now has eight home runs this year. Later in the inning, Jace Conrad just missed the Cajuns third home run of the evening as he drove an RBI double off of the wall in right to give the Ragin' Cajuns a 3-1 advantage.
Back-to-back RBI doubles by Seth Harrison and Girouard extended the Louisiana lead to 5-1 in the bottom of the fifth.
