A World War II veteran is asking New Iberia residents to help him find his stolen tricycle. Sgt. Larry Dauterive, a 20-year veteran of the United States Army, says when he woke up this morning, his saw his trike had been taken from his garage. He says the vehicle was chained and locked, but the thief cut the chain during the act.
Dauterive, 93, says the tricycle is his only means of transportation. He says that he uses it exercise twice a day and to go to a nearby grocery store.
The tricycle is a red Schwing three-wheeler with a rear basket and flag. Dauterive says he believes the tricycle was stolen between 9:00 P. M. last night and 6:00 this morning. The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft. If you have any information, call the sheriff's office at 337-369-3714.
