A water advisory in New Iberia has some residents concerned.
The advisory was issued Thursday night when Louisiana Water Company pipes started losing water pressure but just how is this affecting LAWCO customers?
At Victor's Cafeteria, it may look like just another day of work but the water is one small problem.
"It's a little bit of an inconvenience." Victor Huckaby says, "more so for our customers than us."
LAWCO says a mechanical malfunction caused water pipes to lose pressure- without pressure on the line, it increases the chance of contaminants coming in.
Huckaby however, boils most of his food- and boiling the water would get rid of any possible contamination.
Over at Iberia Parish Schools though, there's a different problem.
"Our custodians covered all the water fountains," Hazel Roberts said. "The children would have no access to that kind of water."
Iberia Parish Schools are taking extra precautions.
"Our cafeteria people had water in place to make sure that any water used would be bottled water," Roberts said.
Louisiana Water Company says it's been testing the water and it should be safe to use by Saturday morning.
"It hadn't been that much of an inconvenience (for us at work)." Huckaby says, "but for safety reasons, health reasons so we have to abide by it."
