The St. Mary Branch of the NAACP is hosting its annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday, August 17, 2013, 7:00 P.M. The banquet will be held at the Morgan City Auditorium located at 705 Myrtle Street, Morgan City.
In addition to entertainment and a keynote speaker, this year's banquet will spotlight individuals in our parish that are making a difference. Honorees being recognized this year will include individuals representing various areas from Business/Entrepreneur Award; Community Service Award; Education Award; Law & Justice Award; Media & Journalism Award; Medicine & Health Award; Political & Government Award; Religious Service Award.
The NAACP has been at the forefront of civil rights for over a century. The mission of the NAACP is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination. The NAACP has been addressing such issues throughout St. Mary Parish for over 50 years.
