Motorcycle crash victim former Arnaudville police chief

The man who died following a Monday night motorcycle crash in Carencro is a former Arnaudville Police Chief.

Michael Duplechain died yesterday from the injuries suffered in the crash.

State police say Duplechain lost control in the roundabout on Hector Connoly Road, hit the curb, and was thrown from his bike. He died yesterday at a local hospital.

Duplechain served two terms as Arnaudville's police chief, holding the office from 1995-2003. He was first elected in the fall of 1994 and re-elected in 1998. He was defeated by Richard Mizzi during his run for a third term in 2002.

Funeral arrangements for Duplechain are still pending at this time.
