An Evangeline Parish Grand Jury indicted a mother on one count of second-degree murder in her toddler's death. Ayla Lynch is accused of making her 15-month-old daughter, Brooklyne Mann, drink rubbing alcohol. Initially, the Turkey Creek woman was charged with first-degree murder, but the grand jury indicted her on the lesser charge.
Lynch is accused of taking her frustrations out on her daughter after having a fight with her boyfriend, according to offiicals. Evangeline Parish Sheriff's investigators say she was on Lortab and methamphetamine at the time. Brooklyne died in April, and Lynch was arrested in August after an investigation. Evangeline Parish Sheriff's detectives said she was a suspect in her daughter's death since they began their investigation in April.
