The following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department.
1. Male Juvenile, Morgan City, Louisiana was arrested @ 1:20pm
Charge- Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Simple Burglary, Theft of a Firearm and Theft.
On October 22nd, 2013 Morgan City Police began an investigation into a possible stolen vehicle that was involved in a traffic crash in Patterson, Louisiana. During the course of the investigation it was found that the vehicle was stolen from a local motel in the Morgan City area. Officers obtained information on the driver of the vehicle and submitted a warrant for his arrest. During the course of obtaining the warrant Detectives of the Morgan City Police Department received information that a firearm and other items were stolen from the inside of the vehicle prior to the vehicle crashing. Detectives served a search warrant on the residence where the juvenile was living and located the stolen firearm and the other items that were missing from the vehicle. Subsequently the juvenile was placed under arrest and processed and released pending juvenile court proceedings.
2. Resa Boothe, 47 years of age, Address-Morgan City, Louisiana, was arrested on October 23, 2013 @ 10:13hrs
Charges: Appearing in Public Intoxicated, and Simple Battery.
Morgan City Police were dispatched to a local motel for a disturbance. Upon arrival officers located and spoke to Resa Boothe. It was determined that Boothe was involved in a verbal altercation with another patron at the hotel. Boothe appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage at the time of the complaint. Boothe and the other person involved were advised by officers to go inside for the night.
A few minutes later Morgan City Police received a second call to the same motel. Upon arrival it was found that Boothe exited her room again and went to the room of another patron and began to cause a disturbance, and committed a battery on the individual. Boothe was placed under arrest, and transported to Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and charged accordingly.
