Monroe businessman Dean Hart Jr. has been indicted by a grand jury on eight counts related to a December incident.
The Ouachita Parish grand jury found cause Thursday to indict on two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm on an officer, one count of unlawful use of a laser on a police officer, resisting an officer by force, second-degree kidnapping, forcible rape, domestic abuse battery and possession of cocaine.
Hart is accused of having kidnapped and raped his wife and holding her inside their Monroe home. He kept Monroe police at bay for more than seven hours before being arrested.
Hart has been in a substance abuse facility since January.
The News-Star reports Hart be discharged Tuesday and returned to Monroe for a bond hearing on Wednesday.
