Deputies discover meth lab in Lafayette Parish home

A Lafayette Parish man is behind bars after sheriff's deputies discovered a meth lab in his home.

Robby Maddox is charged with operation of a clandestine laboratory, possession of methampetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies say they received a tip about the lab on Le Medicine Road and set up surveillance. Investigators say a search of Maddox's home turned up a "shake-and-bake" lab and over two grams of meth.

Hazmat units were called to the scene. Officials say they found no evidence of hazardous fumes or materials.

The investigation into the lab is ongoing.
