Meth Arrest in Port Barre

Release: On October 29,2010, the Port Barre police department received a tip a vehicle possibly carrying illegal narcotics would be passing through the city limits on Saizan Ave. Moments later, officers spotted a black truck travelling on Saizan Ave at a high rate of speed. The police were able to stop the vehicle on US 190. During the scope of investigation, officers observed the driver, identified as Jude Darbonne, appeared to be abnormally nervous.

A Port Barre K-9 unit conducted an open air scent around the vehicle. The K-9 alerted to the vehicle and the officers conducted a search. During the search, officers located a small bag containing Marijuana and about three grams of Methamphetamine "Crystal Meth".

Darbonne admitted ownership of the illegal narcotics and was transported to the Port Barre police department. During the booking process, officers located another small bag containing more Methamphetamine hidden on Darbonne's body.

Jude Darbonne was booked into the Port Barre Police Department for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility, and Obstruction of Justice by Tampering with Evidence.
