A 31-year-old Baton Rouge man has been indicted on a second-degree murder charge in the Jan. 5 shooting death of a St. Francisville man outside an abandoned house. A grand jury returned the indictment Wednesday.
Shingo Edwards is accused in the slaying of 43-year-old Keith Matthews, who was sitting in a car.
Edwards faces an automatic sentence of life in prison if convicted as charged. His case has been assigned to state District Judge Mike Erwin.
