State Police and Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office are searching for 3 children who were abducted by their father.
Deputies say Pedro Alberto Monterroso-Navas, 43, allegedly killed his girlfriend, 24 year-old Heidi Monroy, and fled the scene with his three children.
Around 3:35 a.m. Sunday, law officials responded to a medical call in the 4000 block of Durand Street in Metairie. JPSO found a woman, who suffered from blunt force trauma to the head, in a bathtub unconscious. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
WWL-TV reports Sheriff Newell Normand says Monterroso-Navas fled the scene with three of his children -- 14-year-old Jessica Nicolle Monterroso, 4-year-old Yojan Manuel Monterroso-Flores and 2-year-old Jafet Abigaitl Monterroso-Monroy. He faces a second-degree murder charge.
Normand said Monterroso-Navas is a 43-year-old hispanic male with brown hair. He also goes by the name Wilson Rigoberto Mina. He was last seen wearing black pants and a blue shirt. He has a limp when he walks.
If you see Monterroso-Navas or his children call Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office at 504-364-5300 or "911".
