Man Accused of 146 Burglaries

PORT ALLEN, La. (AP) - Police say a fugitive arrested in Port
Allen is accused of committing 146 burglaries in southeast
Louisiana.
Before Port Allen police arrested him Tuesday, Police Chief Fred
Smith said 20-year-old Demond Boston was designated as a "most
wanted" fugitive by the Thibodaux Police Department, the Lafourche
Parish Sheriff's Office and Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office.
Smith tells The Advocate that his detectives are working with
authorities to determine if Boston is involved in any Port Allen
burglaries.
After arresting Boston, police took him Lafourche Parish
Detention Center, where he was booked into the jail on 146 counts
of simple burglary. His bond has been set at $450,000.
It was not immediately known whether Smith has an attorney.
