A Lake Charles man accused of trying to steal a man's truck has been arrested. Lake Charles Police say on Aug. 28, Rock Broussard tried to steal the truck around 5:17 a.m. at EZ Mart. Police arrested Broussard today and charged him with auto theft.
When the alleged attempted theft happened, the truck owner jumped in the bed of the truck and used a shackle to shatter the window. "He then struck Broussard in the head several times in an attempt to force him to stop the vehicle. It was after this that Broussard exited the vehicle, while it was still in motion and fled the scene on foot," Cpl. Larry Moss said. Broussard was arrested on a warrant.
