BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU is losing its business dean shortly after the university unveils its new Business Education Complex on Friday.
LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business Dean Eli Jones tells The Advocate Wednesday he has accepted the dean position at the University of Arkansas' Walton College. Jones interviewed for the job in mid-February.
Jones said he is planning to leave after May, once the transition into the new complex is complete. His job at Arkansas starts July 1.
He touted the growth of the LSU College of Business' international partnerships and academic degree programs.
Jones came to LSU in 2008 with his top priority being fundraising and construction for the more than $50 million business complex. He was the first African-American dean of a degree-granting college at LSU.
