The Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival and Fair Association has announced that Craig Caillier of New Iberia will reign as King Sucrose LXXIII over the annual festival to be celebrated on September 25-28, 2014 in New Iberia.
Caillier began his 30 year career in the Louisiana Sugar Industry when he accepted employment with M.A. Patout and Son, Ltd., first as a bookkeeper and then office manager. In 1993, he moved to Sterling Sugars as General Manager, later being promoted to President of the Franklin sugar company. He returned to Patoutville in 2001 to become General Manager of the Enterprise Factory, the largest sugar factory in Louisiana. During the period of 2001 - February 2013, he served as the CEO and President of M.A. Patout and Son Ltd, leading the efforts of the three factory operations of Enterprise, Sterling and Raceland as well as managing the land holdings of the company.
Caillier is a past board member, committee member, secretary, treasurer and president of the American Sugar Cane League, as well as a member of the ASSCT.
