LAFAYETTE, La. - The 66th-ranked Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team is set to close out its home schedule at Cajun Courts this weekend with a pair of matches against non-conference opponents from Texas.
Louisiana (14-4) opens the weekend with a 3 p.m. contest against UTSA on Friday, while senior day is slated for Sunday at 10 a.m. against UTPA.
Admission is free and live scoring will be available for both matches.
Sophomore Hunter Johnson is riding an 11-match win streak, as he is a perfect 10-0 in singles this spring. Damian Farinola has won his last four singles matches and holds a 9-6 record.
In doubles, the Cajuns are led by the duo of Edgar Lopez and Farinola with an 11-3 mark this year.
The Roadrunners (8-11) are coming off a pair of home victories against Texas-Pan American (6-1) and NCAA Division II No. 29 St. Mary's (7-0) after dropping a 6-1 decision to 63rd-ranked Wichita State. UTSA will face Lamar on Thursday before the contest with the Cajuns.
Joel Rubio leads UTSA with a 13-6 record in singles play. Rubio and Tomas Stillman are the 29th-ranked doubles team in the nation posting a 14-3 record at lines one and two.
The Ragin' Cajuns and Roadrunners met twice in 2013 with the Cajuns winning a the HEB Tournament of Champs 4-1, while UTSA won the rematch 4-3 in San Antonio.
The Broncs (3-13) have lost four straight matches and are scheduled to face New Orleans before Sunday's contest. Louisiana defeated Texas-Pan American 7-0 earlier this spring on the road.
Chetan Panditi and Juan Cruz Soria are tied for the team lead in singles wins with six.
Following the two home contests, the Ragin' Cajuns head to New Orleans, La. on Sunday, April 6 for a 1 p.m. match with No. 63 Tulane.
