MONROE, La. (AP) - A 38-year-old West Monroe man has pleaded not guilty in the Sept. 16 death of his infant son.
James Edward "Juicy" Clampit, who was charged with one count of negligent homicide, entered his plea on Wednesday.
Police say the 11-month-old boy's death was attributed to a head injury.
According to court documents, Clampit and his wife, Crystal, got into an argument over the child hurting himself while he was playing.
During the argument, police say Clampit allegedly through the bowl from which he had been eating soup toward the kitchen area, striking the child's head.
Clampit will appear in court Dec. 2 for a pretrial hearing.
