The principals of LHSAA member schools have passed a split of public and private schools in football playoffs. Proposition 18 passed this morning during the LHSAA Convention. Public and private schools will still compete against each other during the regular season. During the playoffs, private, or "non-select" schools, will be placed into two divisions--Division I for schools in classes 3A, 4A, and 5A, and Division II for schools in classes 1A and 2A. The change will take effect during the 2013 football season.
