School districts across the state are grappling with how Act 1 will change leadership relationships between superintendents and boards, as well as accountability issues within PreK-12 classrooms. On Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. a public forum on Act 1 will be held at the AOC Community Media Center (101 Jefferson Street, Lafayette-In the Rosa Parks Transportation Center). This forum will concentrate on the Impact of Act 1: Legislation affecting school boards, superintendents and teachers, panelists will discuss the new law with local voters. This event is sponsored by League of Women Voters of Lafayette, Lafayette Public Education Stakeholders Committee (LaPESC), Parents Empowered, and Power of Public Education (PPEL).
