Before Santa set out for his Christmas Eve journey, KATC's Maddie Garrett caught up with a few last minute Santa visitors and the man himself to find out how you think he makes his annual trip.
It's perhaps the most magical night of the year for children, when Santa Claus comes to town.
"we're very excited about Christmas, first time taking his picture with Santa," said father Glenn Thibodaux about his two-year-old son, Addin.
Parents and kids fit in a few last minute visits with Saint Nick Friday at the Mall of Acadiana before he started his Christmas Eve journey.
"I like to tell Santa what I want for Christmas and everything, just to let him know, make sure he got everything right," said Conrad Richard, who visited Santa with his brother and sister Friday.
So you've been good all year and your letter is off to the North Pole. And Santa is finally on his way, but we wanted to know, just how does he do it?
"I think by his reindeer, I think he has some kind of magical power, he just snaps his finger and he goes wherever he wants, wherever he wants in the world," explained Conrad.
There were a few theories, turns out the chimney isn't the only way the man in red gets in your house.
"He usually comes through the door," said Hailey Badaux.
"We just leave the door unlocked and some windows, hopefully he'll come through find out a way," said Conrad.
We even asked the big man himself, and he wouldn't give away too much. "It's just the magic of Christmas," was all Santa Claus would tell us.
