MONROE, La. (AP) - Gov Bobby Jindal says Monroe based-CenturyLink will announce a major expansion, adding hundreds of local jobs and an addition to its campus on U.S. Highway 165 North.
Jindal, who said the state provided incentives to help facilitate the expansion, tells The News-Star he will be in Monroe Tuesday to make the official announcement with CenturyLink president and chief executive Glen Post.
CenturyLink already employs about 1,500 workers in Monroe with an annual local payroll exceeding $70 million.
Jindal committed state resources to facilitate another CenturyLink expansion in 2009 after the company acquired Embarq Corp.
