OAK CREEK, Wis. (AP) - Republican governors from three southern states are in Wisconsin to rally voters behind the governor's campaign of Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour appeared at a rally Wednesday in suburban Milwaukee that drew several hundred people.
Jindal says their point was to remind voters that GOP strategies of lower taxes and less government have worked in other states, and Walker can make them work here.
Walker is opposed by Democrat Tom Barrett, the Milwaukee mayor.
Barrett had planned to spend Wednesday campaigning at schools in Eau Claire, Rhinelander and La Crosse but he canceled due to bad weather.
