BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Next weekend, hunters and campers can take advantage of a state sales tax holiday on items they regularly use like guns and ammunition.
Gov. Bobby Jindal says the exemption weekend is a "great opportunity for all hunters and campers to save money on the equipment they need to enjoy (the state as a) Sportsman's Paradise," for which it is known.
The tax break exempts a wide range of supplies from all state and local sales taxes. Some of the eligible items include shotguns and other weapons, ammunition, hunting accessories, apparel and off-road vehicles. Visit www.revenue.louisiana.gov/secondamendment for more information.
The holiday runs Sept. 2 through Sept. 4.
