Jay Castille takes Carencro city manager job

CARENCRO, La. (AP) - Lafayette City-Parish Councilman Jay Castille is now also the new city manager in Carencro.
The Advertiser reports Castille started working as Carencro city manager last week, supervising all city employees except those in the police department.
He replaced Lloyd Rochon, who resigned earlier this month after nearly 10 years on the job.
Mayor Glenn Brasseaux says the position of city manager is an at-will job that the mayor fills with approval from the council.
Brasseaux says he interviewed three people and recommended Castille for the job.
