The investigation into a substitute teacher allegedly assaulting a student at Krotz Springs Elementary continues today.
Krotz Springs Police Chief Norman Mouille tells KATC he has called in another agency to assist in the investigation. Mouille says, "I want to make sure we make the right decision."
A substitute teacher is accused of throwing the top of a desk across the classroom after asking a student to take out his study guide. The student admits he didn't follow the teacher's instructions saying he already studied at home.
13-year-old Brad Durham says, "He pulled the desk from the front up and I fell back. I hit my head on the desk behind me and he pulled the desk from under me."
No comment from school administrators, citing the ongoing investigation.
