An Acadia Parish mom is looking for answers after she says her 4-year-old son was left on a school bus all day. She says she was never even told her son missed Pre-K. Superintendent John Bourque says the child's bus driver has been pulled from the route, pending an investigation. The school board is taking the complaint seriously, and reviewing surveillance video to see if the child really was left on the bus for 7 hours. Latesha Hagger says she picked up her son from the bus stop at around 3:30 today, when she says a bus aide told her that her son was found on the bus at the end of the day.
The boy told his mom he cried when he couldn't get off the bus, then fell asleep. Hagger says no one at Church Point Elementary even noticed her son wasn't in school.
"They said they had notified the elementary. So I called the elementary, and the principal told me that too many kids had missed school today and they cant keep track of all the students," said Hagger. "I mean yes, this situation turned out the he was returned to me, but anything could have happened. That's my baby. That's my only child."
