Interstate 10 westbound is closed in Lake Charles after a vehicle crash blocked the roadway there, and a vehicle fire is causing slowdowns farther east on the roadway.
The Lake Charles wreck occurred near the Ryan Street exit at mile marker 30B and caused the closure of all westbound lanes on I-10 shortly after 10 a.m.
There is also a report of a vehicle fire farther east on I-10, near mile marker 72, which is west of Crowley. There are no reports of road closures because of the fire, but it is causing a slowdown in traffic. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is urging motorists to avoid that location and take alternate routes.
