DERIDDER, La. (AP) - The Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office says foul play is not suspected in an inmate's death.
The American Press reports that a news release from Chief Deputy Joe Toler says 49-year-old David Peak was asleep when lunch was brought to his cell on Friday, and was found dead about three hours later.
He says Peake was in a cell by himself and had been arrested for staying at a spot after being ordered out.
Toler said the Calcasieu Parish Coroner's Office was conducting an autopsy. That office said Sunday that information would have to come from Beauregard Parish Coroner Flynn Taylor.
Taylor's office says it provides autopsy information only to the family or law enforcement.
