The Iberia Parish Council will once again consider tonight a resolution reducing the size of the parish council from 14 members to seven.
Councilman David Ditch first brought the item before the council two weeks ago. The council referred the item to its executive committee, which tabled the item at a meeting last week.
Ditch requested that the council revisit the subject, and the council obliged him by placing the item on tonight's agenda.
Ditch, who cannot run again for his seat because of term limits, says that decreasing the size of the council would remove some of the political barriers that stand in the way of accomplishing goals.
If the resolution receives preliminary and final approval, it would go before voters in a parishwide election.
