Iberia deputies are reporting that an alleged New Iberia burglar previously arrested Saturday on multiple charges will now face additional charges.
Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office advised that deputies apprehended Jeremy Cross, 27, after a foot pursuit on Aug. 16. Deputies suspected Cross was connected to multiple vehicle burglaries that were reported near the Providence Street Area in New Iberia.
At the time of Cross's arrest, deputies reported the recovery of an stolen handgun Cross allegedly had discarded from his possession. Cross was then charged with felony possession of a firearm, resisting an officer, illegal carrying of weapons and obstruction of justice. Cross was then booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.
Detectives said they now believe Cross is responsible for other vehicle burglaries and will face additional charges.
