The crash had closed Interstate 10 for traffic traveling east and westbound in the city of Westlake. All traffic approaching Lake Charles on Interstate 10 east and Interstate 10 westbound were diverted onto Interstate 210.

State Police Emergency Services worked through the night to safely remove the butane from the tanker.

State Police want to remind motorists to drive carefully and to expect an increase in traffic on Louisiana roadways during this holiday week.
