HS Football Parents: LSU Players Let Them Down

Following the arrest and suspension of LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson and linebacker Joshua Johns, many parents and fans are disappointed in these college athletes who were once seen as role models.

And with high school football officially in full swing, KATC wanted to know what the arrests mean for young athletes.

"My son has a Jefferson jersey and it should be zero tolerance they should both be kicked off the team period," said Scott McDaniel, a high school football parent.

College athletes can have a big influence not only on the field but off the field as well, especially for students who aspire to play at the college level.

"I really think it was wrong, they should act as more of a role model for young athletes like what are playing out here," said LSU fan Brett Smith

Carrie Simoneaux's son is a senior and plays football for St. Martinville. She said she hopes her son learns a lesson from Jefferson's and John's mistakes.

"It honestly, it breaks my heart because in a situation like that as a parent of course you want to teach your children to walk away and what not," said Simoneaux.
